Another year of the legendary Run for Life charity run is over. This year it was held on Monday, April 15th and a record 215 runners participated! Thanks to their generosity, a total of CZK 24 215,- was raised to help little Vojtíšek. Our faculty defended the Dean's Cup this year as well, because it had more participants in the race than FaF UK.

Thank you to all competitors, congratulations to the winners and a big thank you to the sponsors who donated prizes for the winners of the run: LF HK, Kofola, Infinite medstyle, Godlike, Dr. Max, Klenot, Run 4 fun and GoMango. 

And where will the proceeds from this year's event go?

The money will be given to Vojtíšek, a 14-month-old cowboy who is struggling with a diagnosis of Septooptic Dysplasia with Optic Atrophy and associated hormonal disorder. Although he can't see much and his eyesight is impaired, he is a very smart little boy who, despite his disability, is not afraid of new challenges and bravely fights everything. His parents will use the proceeds from the fundraising run to purchase contrast aids to develop motor skills and stimulate vision, as well as occupational therapy, which is not covered by health insurance.

On 17 April, the sixth annual charity Run for Life took place in Šimkovy sady. The race was organized by the Association of Medical Students and the Association of Czech Pharmacy Students' Association, 116 runners from the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové and the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové took part. This year's run was organized in support of little Štěpánek with Sotos syndrome. In order to help CZK 19 120,-. The money will be used for rehabilitation and aids necessary for the development of the boy's fine motor skills and speech.

The race was started by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University, Assoc. Prof. Jaroslav Roh. In addition to individual placements on both tracks, there was also a competition for the traveling cup, which thanks to the greater participation of students from the Faculty of Medicine goes again to the medics. The best results on the 5 km track were achieved by Šimon Koblížek (FaF UK) and Lenka Táborská (FaF UK). Andrej Tibenský (FaF UK) and Alexandra Goldmannová (FaF UK).

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, the 5th annual Run for Life Foundation Run took place. The 2.5 or 5 km run through Šimek Gardens involved 92 runners from among the students and staff of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy in HK and the general public. Both runs were kicked off by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Prof. Jiří Manďák. A total of CZK 20 593,- was collected in entry fees, which will go to the sick boy Daniel, who suffers from poor cerebellar development and hypotonic syndrome. In the race between the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy of CU for the traveling cup, our faculty won, which had more competitors on the track. The travelling cup therefore remains with our faculty.
