The international mobility of undergraduate and postgraduate students and academics is supported by a number of programmes such as Erasmus, CEEPUS, the 4EU+ project, the IFMSA exchange programme, etc. In addition to the above, financial support for placements can be drawn from the CU Mobility Fund, CU Internationalisation Support or from the Faculty's own funds (PPSŘ).
For several years now we have been accepting 2-3 students from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, for two-month summer internships. In 2023, the Faculty has established contact with Kitasato University in Japan and with the Faculty of Medicine in Taiwan and the University of Saarland in Germany.
Inter-university co-operation and international mobility is considered by Charles University to be a crucial condition for the improvement of the quality of activities in research and teaching.
Co-operation with foreign universities is based on a global network of partner relations that gives CU access to the to best information and experience and makes possible extensive exchange of students, teachers and researchers. For student mobility CU has been creating the conditions for one- to two-semester exchanges, while exchanges of academic staff are focused on the creation of joint research projects.
CU is striving to integrate all its faculties into this process, while placing the main emphasis on exploitation of European Union programmes.
