Projects implemented with EU funding are an important driver of our faculty's development. In terms of organizational arrangements, the construction of the first campus building MEPHARED and the acquisition of research infrastructure for shared laboratories, the so-called core facilities, have contributed to the development of the research activities of our faculty. In the future (2026), the completion of the campus within the MEPHARED 2 project, in which our faculty participates together with the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove, will contribute to the development of research activities.
The scientific research activities of individual departments of our faculty include all clinical and biomedical disciplines and our grant activities are equally diverse. Most external projects are obtained from the Agency for Medical Research of the Czech Republic, another important provider is the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the our faculty is involved in departmental projects of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, projects of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and others.
The Faculty is also involved in institutional projects. The most important source of funding for science and research at the Faculty of Science is the Cooperatio programme. Starting scientists can apply for support for their research projects to the CU Grant Agency.
