Academic Qualifications

The habilitation procedure and the procedure for the appointment of professor are key processes in the academic life of the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové of Charles University, which ensure a high standard of professional competence and scientific quality of our teachers. The habilitation procedure is aimed at achieving the title of associate professor, which is awarded to individuals with significant scientific achievements, teaching experience and the ability to independently conduct scientific work. This title not only confirms the candidate's professional competence, but also entitles him/her to teach and conduct research projects independently at our faculty.

The process of appointing professors then constitutes the highest academic recognition that can be awarded at our faculty. Professorships are awarded to professionals who have a long record of scholarly research, have extensive teaching experience, and have contributed significant publications or innovations in their field. The appointment procedure takes into account not only professional and scientific qualities, but also the candidate's ability to bring new knowledge to teaching and to actively contribute to the development of medical science.

Both of these processes ensure that our Faculty of Medicine has top-notch experts who are not only excellent teachers but also make a significant contribution to scientific progress. Habilitation and appointment procedures thus strengthen our position as a leading educational and research institution in the field of medicine, where quality teaching and scientific excellence go hand in hand with our mission to bring the latest knowledge and innovations to practice.
