The Faculty is guided by the Strategic Plan of the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove for the period 2021-2025, which develops the ideas of the university strategy, complements them and makes them concrete for the conditions of the Faculty of Medicine HK. The strategic plan builds on the long-term goals of the Faculty from previous periods, as evidenced by the formulation of the Faculty's vision. At the same time, it specifies the strategic goals of future development in accordance with the demands placed on the faculty's activities by the current times and the issues of contemporary social development.
The basic pillars of the faculty's activities are teaching, science and research and foreign cooperation.
The construction of the campus is a joint project of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University in Hradec Králové. The project called "MEPHARED Education and Research Centre of Charles University in Hradec Králové" was created based on the decision of Charles University to address the difficult spatial situation and inadequate facilities of many faculties of Charles University. The long-term goal of both the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University in Hradec Králové is to create an organisational and spatial functional interconnection of the departments of both faculties with a simultaneous connection to the premises of the University Hospital Hradec Králové in one location. This will provide an environment for better teaching, science and research and the related connection between theory and practice.
From July 2011 to September 2015, the project for the construction of the first building of the future campus (MEPHARED I) was implemented. The building of the Educational and Research Centre in Hradec Králové was opened in 2015. Construction of the next campus buildings (MEPHARED II) will start in October 2023 with a planned opening in 2026.
