Teaching

Future bachelors, masters and doctors of medical sciences study at the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové. Teaching is provided by renowned teachers - experts in their fields and knowledgeable scientists.


Bachelor's and Master's studies

The Master's degree comprises a six-year General Medicine programme and a five-year Dentistry programme in both Czech and English.


The Bachelor's degree is accredited for the Nursing and Midwifery study programmes, but only in Czech.


Students are taught in theoretical, preclinical, clinical and preventive disciplines.The theoretical departments provide students with the basic knowledge necessary for a proper understanding of morphological, functional and pathological processes in the body.


The departments, clinics and wards of the University Hospital mainly introduce students to the basic methods of investigation, laboratory methods, differential diagnosis and principles of treatment. Great emphasis is placed on practical teaching.


Doctoral studies (PhD)

Graduates of a Master's degree in General or Dental Medicine or related natural sciences may continue their postgraduate education in doctoral study programmes, both in Czech and English, in both full-time and combined forms.


Pedagogical expertise

The number of associate professors and professors is an important factor in assessing the prestige of a school and in the (re)accreditation of study programmes.


The habilitation procedure (procedure for the award of the title of associate professor) and the procedure for the appointment of professor are processes for obtaining the scientific and pedagogical rank of university teacher.


The Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové pays great attention to habilitation and appointment procedures.
