The Rector's Sports Day took place on Tuesday 14 May 2024. The Department of Physical Education, in cooperation with colleagues from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in HK, prepared a varied sports programme. We expected the sunny summer weather to attract a large number of students and staff interested in exercise. Unfortunately, our expectations were not fulfilled. Thank you to everyone who came to play sports and enjoy a day of exercise and sunshine with us.
The traditional run to Vysoké Chvojno was attended by 35 students and staff, together they enjoyed a beautiful day.
Another year of the Rector Golf Tournament took place on the Roudnička course in Hradec Králové in beautiful weather. The tournament was attended by 12 golfers. The best man was Dominik Borský, the best woman was Prof. Jarmila Vinšová. For the first time since 2009, the "rest of the world" from the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove won the Traveling Cup against the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University.
This year for the first time a pairs badminton tournament was held and enjoyed a large turnout. A total of 20 students from FaF UK and LF HK and two employees competed for the championship in two categories, INTERMEDIATE and ELITE. The winners in the intermediate category were Alžběta Rutarová and Matúš Slyško, second place went to Kateřina Müllerová and Tomáš Hulinský, and third place went to international students Navraj Kathuria and Ethan Fernandes.
Three pairs competed in the ELITE group. The victory was won by Adam Voháňka and Šimon Horák from LF HK, who in a thrilling match very narrowly defeated Korean students from FaF UK Min Juhyung and Park Sangyoung. The third place went to the pair of employees of Assoc. Prof. Jakub Chlebek and Dr. Jaroslav Jenčo. I would like to thank all participants of the tournament for their excellent sports performance and great atmosphere.
This year's beach volleyball tournament was held for the first time in the beautiful SPORTPARK Hit area. The sunny weather attracted a large number of participants from students and staff. A total of 16 two-person teams including 6 employees and 26 students from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy of CU in HK took part in the tournament. The first place from the tournament went to the team "4 Balls" after a thrilling final, the second place went to the team "Last" and the third place was won by the team "Green Dump" in the small final.
As part of RSD 2024 and the Zumba, dance aerobics and taebo marathon, we gathered 13 people, 9 employees and 4 students in the gym at Zámostí. Together we enjoyed a perfect morning. For most, taebo was their first experience and after previous workouts it was already quite challenging, but they didn't let that discourage them and worked out to their full potential. At the end we drew and rewarded three lucky winners with valuable prizes.
A tennis tournament was held at the Department of Physical Education with 6 participants. Ranking: 1. Šrámek, 2. Řezáčová, 3. Poul.
At 15:00 the scooter and in-line skate race started at Lesní hřbitovy. The weather was more than perfect and therefore only one lap of about 11 km was ridden. Only two female students took part in the scooter race, they both finished with a time of 41:31. Six daredevils, including two teachers, came to try the in-line skate race. All those present were from the Faculty of Pharmacy. There were also two winners of the circuit with a time of 37:50.
In this year's edition, climbing on the artificial wall at the HK Wall took place for the first time. 18 students participated in the climbing competition and all participants climbed to their hearts' content and some overcame themselves and their fear of heights. The highest scoring routes were climbed by Stefan Bechera who won. The second place was taken by Dominika Puchírová and the third place was taken by Lubomír Kolárský.
A ring tournament took place in the Zámostí area. Two teams of students competed. The girls Bížová, Jánská and Vacková won.
11 employees came to enjoy a beautiful morning with pétanque in the Zámostí area. The first prize went to Mrs. Pochopová, the silver medal went to Mrs. Faltusová and the bronze was shared by Mr. Šimek and Mr. Švec.
Other sports were not held due to low participation.

On Wednesday 10 May 2023, in windy sunny weather, the Rector's Sports Day took place, during which the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové and the Department of Physical Education prepared a fun active programme for students and staff. Participants could take part in a running race, go on a bike trip, work out together and also compete in tournaments in golf, floorball, futsal or beach volleyball. Some took home a symbolic award for their performance. Run/walk/bike ride to Chvojno - XXVIII.
The race started traditionally at Nový Hradec at 9:00 a.m., from where the runners went to the restaurant Zámeček in Vysoké Chvojno, where they could rest and strengthen themselves after the demanding sports performance. There was also a special prize "Runner of LF HK / FaF 2023" waiting for the best runner. The route was 13.8 kilometres long and nearly 30 students and employees of LF HK and FaF UK took part in it.

The trip started at 9:30 in front of the Theoretical Institutes Building of the Faculty of Medicine, from where 8 cyclists set off along the Elbe River to the Kuks Hospital. A flat road in the middle of picturesque nature awaited them, which was only occasionally replaced by a few gentle hills. The destination of the trip was the Na sýpce pub, where all the participants had refreshments and then headed back to Hradec Králové.
The XXIII year of the Rector Golf Tournament took place at the Roudnička course in Hradec Králové and was attended by 13 golfers. In addition, 4 foreign students tried their hand at dressage. The best man was Prof. Vladimír Wsól from FaF UK, the best woman Prof. Lenka Borská from LF HK in Hradec Kralove and the best student Dominik Borský. The traveling cup as it has been the rule for many years won FaF against the rest of the world under the leadership of captain Prof. Petr Solich.
During the Rector's Sports Day, everyone could take part in tournaments in beach volleyball, floorball, futsal, petanque or exercise together and stretch their whole body.

9 golfers took part in the Rector's Golf Tournament. The winner of the women's tournament was Prof. Jarmila Vinsova, and among the men Prof. Petr Solich, both from the Faculty of Pharmacy. The traveling cup of the Rector's Golf Tournament was won by the team of the Faculty of Pharmacy consisting of Prof. Petr Solich, Prof. Jarmila Vinsova, and Prof. Vladimir Wsol. Congratulations!
Beautiful weather, great mood and great performances, such was this year of already traditional running race to Vysoké Chvojno, organized by the popular Prof. Miroslav Kubou from the Faculty of Medicine. Over 50 runners measured their strength on the 14 km long track from Hradec Králové to Vysoké Chvojno. The winner was David Řehák from the Faculty of Medicine, Jan Kollár from the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis finished in 2nd place, and Daniel Barták from the Faculty of Medicine won bronze. The winner was rewarded with a medal and a cup that will remind him of a great performance. However, many participants ran only for the joy of completion. Managing the challenging track to the end was a reward itself and a confirmation that they still have it. Congratulations to all for great performances.
Sunny weather, great atmosphere and traditional winner. This year, we welcomed 16 players from among students and staff of the Charles University. As in previous tournaments, the head of neurology, Prof. Martin Vališ with his partner won the show. Only one team managed to win one set over Prof. Vališ's team. There were 20 close matches played and teams were balanced, thus the exchanges on the field were very exciting.
The floorball competition was attended by 12 students, who were divided into two teams of six players. The match was played 3x15 minutes with three players in the field. The atmosphere of the match was exciting and all participants gave in everything. The match took place in a friendly atmosphere, which did not detract the pace of the game. The winning team was the one around captain Lucie Rusková. Congratulations to the winners.
The petanque tournament turned into a purely girls' competition. There was no shortage of twists and exciting moments, and the winners of a balanced duel were decided only after a two-hour fierce fight. Congratulations to the winners.
A total of 12 athletes took part in the football tennis tournament and each team consisted of 3 players. After very even fights, the team consisting of Bezouška, Čepová, Matoušek and the team consisting of Vavro, Rusková, Zelinka reached the finals. After a duel full of twists and turns, a team of employees of the Faculty of Pharmacy consisting of Bezouška, Matoušek and pharmacy student Michaela Čepová eventually won the tournament.
Four teams competed in Ringo and fought for the victory on Rector's Sports Day. After even fights, the team led by captain Dr. Jiří Demuth rejoiced in the victory.
About 40 participants were welcomed by our instructors fomr the Department of Physical Education at a non-traditional cardio marathon. The morning excercise started with Mgr. Bezoušková´s Taebo class, followed by Bodyform with Mgr. Szakošová focused on body shaping and everything was topped off by Mgr. Němec and his dancing Zumba. For some, this was their first experience with these exercise programs, but many of the regular participants also attended. Everyone gave in everything with enthusiasm, and although there was no fight for a medal, but to endure a very demanding exercise, the commitment of everyone was really great. We thank all employees, especially from the Study Department, and students for their participation. We appreciate it and look forward to seeing you in a year! Congratulations to all who endured.
The croquet tournament was exciting until the very end, two pairs fought for the primacy and in a close game students Rozálie Bártová and Ondřej Hejzlar won a victory leaving Veronika Kubečková and Tereza Poděbradská just behind. We thank all for their participation and look forward to the next year!
We were pleased that at least one participant took part in the competition for the best „bábovka". Jana Šimková from the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, brought an excellent cake and off course sje won. Thank you, we all enjoyed it very much!
This year's conquering took place on the premises of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Participants had the opportunity to measure their strengths in non-traditional, mostly teambuilding disciplines. It is unbelievable that the winners of this year were students of the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, who had to orient themselves very quickly in the unknown premises of the faculty. They deciphered the complex hints most quickly, which led them to the well-deserved victory and the title "Conqueror of Mephared."
Another cross-country team, the Prague team from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, did not do badly either, although they did not reach the podium, they fought to the very end. We believe that both employees and students enjoyed this event and we will be happy to welcome everyone again next year.
Kinball, Volleyball, Streetball - unfortunately, these sports could not be played for low participation.
