This time visitors could see what secrets medicine hides. A varied interactive programme was prepared for them by the Department of Medical Biophysics, the Fingerland Department of Pathology, the Department of Anatomy, the Department of Pneumology, the 4th Department of Internal Medicine – Haematology and the Department of Medical Biochemistry.
The event offered workshops for both young and old, lectures on medical topics and a detective game where everyone could try out the work of a doctor for real and try to save a patient. More than 550 visitors came to this year's event.
There was great interest in the programme of the 4th Department of Internal Medicine – Haematology, especially in blood group testing and blood analysis.

In the programme of the Department of Pneumology, visitors could experience how bronchoscopy works and also listen to how the second largest organ in our body sounds.
Experts from the Department of Medical Biophysics showed how thermal imaging works and how to use it to detect the different temperatures of different parts of our body. At the workshops of the Department of Anatomy, everyone could see how our bones and organs appear on X-ray images.
And how do damaged kidneys, organ tumors and other pathologies look under the microscope? This and much more was revealed to visitors at workshops prepared by the Fingerland Department of Pathology. At the lecture of Dr. Petra Kasparova, they learned what is and what is the purpose of the appendix worm.
We would like to thank all the participants and we are looking forward to our next meetings together!
On Friday, 30 September 2022, the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové once again joined the nationwide science-popularization event Researchers´ Night. This time the theme was the senses and the programme was held only in the building of the Educational Centre, in the adjacent park and at the Department of Pneumology on the premises of the University Hospital Hradec Králové. The event was attended by over 500 visitors who could choose from a programme divided according to senses.
