Study and Psychological Support

Educational and Psychological Counselling

Studying at the Faculty of Medicine is demanding, it takes a lot of effort and time, it crosses many taboos. If necessary, students and staff can contact the Educational and Psychological Counselling, which operates as a separate department within the Faculty. Its staff provides individual and group consultations to students and staff. The services of the counselling centre are available free of charge.

The counselling center is confidential service available to any student or staff who need psychological support in various situations such as a problem with adjusting to cultural differences, and the educational system, managing academic problems, and stressful situations etc. Confidential discussions are led by professional counsellors. They help students to open new perspectives, develop productive approaches, and find better coping strategies for personal challenges.

Mentors for the 1st Year

First year students have their own year teacher, each study group has one. The main aim of introducing the institution of year teachers, who are long-standing teachers with high credit, is to help students with both academic and other difficulties that may accompany the beginning of their studies at the medical faculty, and thus to help reduce academic failure. Each group tutor is accompanied by a student from the senior year who shares with the freshmen their experiences of study, including a personal approach to problem solving.
