Experiments on laboratory animals are still an integral part of medical research. The Faculty Vivarium therefore serves staff and postgraduate students who need to work with laboratory animals as part of their research. The department provides all the essentials related to animal experiments, including advice and teaching in the field.

The Department also has an Expert Committee for the Welfare of Experimental Animals which comments on all experiments carried out.
