Department of Dermatology and Venereology

The Clinic of Skin and Genital Diseases currently focuses on immunodermatology, photobiology, aesthetic and corrective dermatology, venereology, wound healing, biological therapy and virology. Close interdisciplinary cooperation can include the care of patients with autoimmune blistering dermatoses (cooperation with the periodontology department of the Dental Clinic). One of the current research priorities is the analysis of the results of biological treatment of psoriasis. In recent years, there has been a significant development of medical care in the field of wound healing. The epidemiology of sexually transmitted diseases and the provision of the widest possible range of modern diagnostic methods in the system of "surveillance" of these diseases that significantly affect the health of the population is another priority of the clinic, including the establishment of closer cooperation with the gynaecological and urological clinics. Doctors of the clinic publish in Czech and international journals, participate in domestic research activities and lecture at domestic and international events (EADV congresses, etc.). In recent years, they have also contributed to a number of textbooks (Salavec - Clinical Dermatovenerology, volumes 1 and 2; Differential Diagnosis in Dermatovenerology; Ocular Manifestations of Systemic Diseases by Salavec, Bartlová). They repeatedly prepare dermatovenerology teaching scripts, are authors of textbooks and monographs (Ettler, Bělobrádek, Salavec), principal investigators or co-investigators of grant projects (Ettler, Salavec) and authors of publications with IF factor (Salavec, Čelakovská, Ettler, Hamáková and others).
